Tie All
MY pets are going walk-about on the hiway, should I tie them up?
My cats and dog like wandering about, we live on hiway 36 near the rockslides in Blachly, should
I tie them up. We tie the dog up and one of the cats already, is it ok to tie all of them up? We have lost 4 previous cats to the hiway. How do you discourage your cats from playing on the road???
On the whole, this sounds like a really bad situation for the animals. Leaving animals chained up for long periods of time is bad for them and eventually increases aggression. Chained dogs are nearly three times more likely to bite than dogs who are not chained.
The truly ideal solution here would be to keep your animals inside. If that isn’t possible, building a larged fenced area would be suitable.
Allowing animals to roam outdoors unsupervised is one of the worst things a pet owner can do. It puts the animals in all sorts of danger. They’re at risk from being hit by cars, being killed or injured by people or other animals, they’re exposed to more diseases, and they can also run away. Tying up your animals only eliminates the risk of being hit by a car. They’re still exposed to plenty of other dangers.
